Day of Silence

On the National Day of Silence hundreds of thousands of students nationwide take a vow of silence to bring attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in their schools. This year on April 15, 2011, the UO campus community will participate in the NDOS project with a week of events culminating in the actual Day of Silence.  Our events calendar has a listing of all the amazing events happening next week and below is a link to the National Day of Silence website.

Dragshow

InterSEXions

The Standing Committee for LGBT Concerns collaborates with campus partners to create an annual symposium on the intersection of LGBTQ issues and another contemporary topic.  It is a venue for queer scholarship on the University of Oregon campus.

Lavender Graduation

The University of Oregon celebrates the successes of our community at the annual Lavender Graduation event.  This year's event is June 12, 2011 at 5:30 PM in the Knight Library Browsing Room.  During the event, we honor graduates, recognize our scholarship recipients, and announce our Commitment to Community award winners.  Please join us for the 16th Annual Lavender Graduation this year.  If you are a graduate for spring 2011 or summer 2011 use the link below to register for the event.  All Lav Grads will be recognized with a certificate and rainbows.

National Coming Out Day

In celebration of National Coming Out Day and in honor of every lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) student, faculty, staff, and alumni, the UO celebrates National Coming Out Day every October 11th.  The week of events includes speakers, programs, a rally, and the Outlist. The Outlist is a list of students, faculty, staff, and alumni who wish to publicly acknowledge and celebrate that they are LGBTQ and/or allies of the LGBTQ community. The list will appear in the form of an advertisement placed in the Oregon Daily Emerald during the week of October 11. During National Coming Out Week there are several other events and programs.
